PACE YOURSELF, ONE MORE MILE
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
~ Galatians 6:9 ~
When I was 10 years old, I ran 5k’s and 8k’s with my father. We trained months in advance for the races. No matter how hard I trained, haft way through the race, the fatigue would set in and quitting was all that i could think about! When I got to that point, I could hear my fathers voice calling to me from a few paces in front of me saying, “Josh don’t give up!” “Your nearly to the finish line!” “You can finish; if you don’t give up.” “just one more mile, just one more block, pace yourself, your doing great son!”
God says, if you pace yourself with me, you’ll never grow weary, you’ll never quit! The work you’ll do for me will always produce a perfect harvest. You just need to finish strong, stick in it with me and you’ll reap a blessing you can’t even imagine.
My strength is sufficient enough for you. It keeps you going till the end; it keeps you going one more mile, one more block, finishing the race out strong! Take rest where rest is needed, then come to me in prayer and Feast upon my word — understand that you can’t do it all. Pray that I will lead you to opportunities to do good for everyone around you.
Heavenly Father, I pray for your sufficient strength to fill me and to give me the endurance that I need, to keep on keeping on. Jesus, be my strength, so that I might continue to be the good and faithful servant you’ve called me to be.
